Hello Everyone, I am from Williamston, SC; this small town is located between Greenville, SC and Anderson, SC. My father is the descendent of John Edward (John Red) Blanding and Lelar Anderson Clark Blanding both from the Belton/Anderson SC area. John Edward Blanding is a descendent of Leander Blanding. Leander was a descendent of either Jessie or James Blanding. Some of my descendents are Willie Jr Blanding, Lee Andrew Blanding, Herbert Blanding, Lillie Mae Blanding McClendon, Sally Ann Blanding, David Blanding, Richard Blanding, Janie Blanding, Eva Blanding, and Naiomi Blanding. I would love to know how we are connected. I know we are but I missing the link. I hope to meet you guys one day. :)

I am Rolanda Blanding Fowler of Lawrenceville, GA. I was going trhough some old boxes and found an envelope with information on the 2015 Blanding Family Reunion. My father and his family are from Sumter, SC (mainly) and my father, Roland Edward Blanding, Jr passed away a few years ago. I remember attending a reunion or two as a child. I am a great granddaughter of Albert Blanding and Diane English Blanding. Albert of Horatio SC. His parents were Sophia Moody Blanding and Ormbsy Blanding. Yes I still have property in Statesburg SC. There are several Blanding’s stilling living in that area, several moved to Harrisburg Pa and New York.

Good afternoon everyone!!! I'm Tina and I live in Rochester, NY and I think this site is AMAZINGLY AMAZING!!!! I have attended a few reunions and would like to attend more. Unfortunately I am going to miss another one this year, but next year I will be attending for sure. Hello. I am Anna Griffin, grand child and namesake of Anna Mickles Phillips from the rural part of Alabama (Crawford/Hurtsboro). My father is obiviously married to Marie Griffin ( her first name is Anna too, though she goes by the name Marie, and she is Anna Mickles daughter). He is one of the few living Buffalo Soldiers from the original negro units in this country at age 81 (he served with the 24th Infantry Regiment). I think that a tribute to the Buffalo Soldiers would be a great idea. Of course I am a biased "daddy's girl", but the Buffalo Soldiers are an important part of black history, as well as military history.

I love your homepage. I am a 5th generation Blanding link to the roots of Robert Blanding born in either 1813 or1818 in South Carolina. I live in Belton/Anderson South Carolina. I was born in Anderson in 1948. Leander Blanding, Rpbert Blanding son, is my great grandfather. I did meet Leander before he died in 1955. We are planning a building a family heritage booklet for our reunion banquet in August 2016

I could not help but notice that your family member Josh Blanding children had some of the same name as my Great Great grandfahter Albert Blanding born in SC. His parents were Sophia Moody Blanding Dicks Black and Ormbsy Blanding(white), They are from Statesburg SC outside of Columbia SC.

My name is Joseph Williams, Jr. and I have been doing some digging on my own for a couple of months. I had to read the Tracing Our Roots page a few times to make sure I was not seeing things. I am the great grandson of Lucy Blanding, born 1870. She married Augustus Williams and they had 9 children that incudes my grandfather, Jimmie Williams (born July 1898). He lived to be 104 and died in August 2002. He and many of his siblings, children are buried at Antioch Baptist Church in Pittsview, AL (Russell County).

I'm so disappointed. I contacted you - or someone representing you - last year, explaining why I was so excited to know you were here. I offered to help you with your website, I even offered additional information that I thought would be of real importance to you (gravesites, relationships of both slave and owner, etc., )I left my phone number, my email, and from our conversation, I thought I'd hear from you or the woman who started this page. I told my father - a Blanding - all that I had learned about you and the page, only to never receive a phone call, even after calling you back and leaving messages.
Well, about three months ago, my father's brother died, and then last night I learned my father died. As much as I wanted to him to share with you, and hoped to find an extension of what I'm sure was part of my family, that's no longer possible.
However, I have been in contact with an institution interested in my collection, so I won't be bothering you again.
